Annually companies and families need to budget for future needs. One of the things we have been doing for over 35 years is helping with those budgets. Our Process is called Retrocommissioning!
Putting it very simply we come into your home or facility and perform a deep analysis of your existing system. We look at all of the equipment, review it for operational reliability, we look at your past records of repair, we document all these things in writing and pictures. We then will review this data and ask questions of the technicians. If they do not have the answers then they return to the facility or home to get answers. This is typically where we get some of our best information because we are asking the equipment/building staff/homeowner the potential Why. This Provides us further data to utilize at our in office analysis.
We return to our office and over the next couple of weeks research each piece of equipment, life expectancy, warranty issues, we go to HVAC sites to see what issues technicians are complaining about on the equipment, we speak with manufacturers and their service support technicians for input. After all of this we then Produce a detailed report with photos and thoughts of what we believe you can expect over the next 1,3 and 5 years from your equipment.
We note areas of need for immediate attention, we outline measures to extend equipment life and increase efficiency, we project replacement needs if any are found and we prepare budgets that are realistic for your use.
We have Hundreds of these projects that we have done for local businesses and homeowners. Many have used these to make decisions on selling, upgrading, expanding or just plain getting things repaired. Each report has been vastly different-some have revealed that the maintenance they thought they were getting from either their staff or an outside vendor was not as expected, others were pleased that their staff or outside vendor had been doing much better than expected…..While lastly some have needed to make wholesale changes to the way things were being done-these were very few but they existed.
These reviews/reports have saved people tens of thousands of dollars in lost productivity and unexpected expenses. They have increased comfort for their staff, reliability of their environmental systems and boosted the bottom line. Most of all they have given the owners/staff information they need to set realistic budgets and goals.
